IN MEMORANCE OF SERGEANT BRIAN ENRIQUE DUNLAP, UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS 01/05/1971 - 09/24/2005
HELLO FELLOW UNITED STATE MARINES AND BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF ALL ARMED FORCES. MTT TEAM #6 NOW TOGETHER FOR 7 MONTHS WITH OUR TIME DWINDLING DOWN HERE, HAVE GROWN CLOSER TO ONE ANOTHER. WE CONSOLE ONE ANOTHER IN TIME OF NEED, AND DEPEND ON EACH OTHER 100% DURING MISSIONS. OUR TEAM CAME TOGETHER ON THE 14TH OF MAY 2005 IN QUANTICO, VIRGINIA. FROM THIS DAY FORWARD WE'VE WORKED DAY IN DAY OUT ALONGSIDE ONE ANOTHER. COMING FROM DIFFERENET STATES, UNITS AND CULTURES TO MAKE UP THIS ELITE ADVISOR TEAM OF 11, FROM VIRGINIA TO IRAQ WE'VE JOURNEYED. THROUGHOUT OUR TRAINING TO OUR CURRENT OPERATIONS IN COUNTRY SGT DUNLAP WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR EVERYONE. HE WAS AN OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL WHO HAD A BIG HEART AND TREATED EVERYONE WITH LOVE AND RESPECT. WE GAVE SGT DUNLAP THE NICKNAME"RATCHET JAW" THE GUY SURE LOVED TO TALK, IN FACT IF HE WAS QUIET WE KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH HIM, AND IF HE WASN’T SMOKING AND DRINKING COFFEE WE ALSO KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG. BUT THAT WASN'T TO OFTEN, WE SURE DO MISS HIM AND HIS CONSTANT JABBERING OF THE JAW. NOW ITS JUST TO QUIET THAT ITS SCARY.
WE CAN ALL AGREE AND SAY WE HAVE LEARNED A LOT FROM SGT DUNLAP.
SGT BRIAN ENRIQUE DUNLAP WAS A DEDICATED, INTELLIGENT, AND SHARP MARINE. HE WAS OUR FOURTH COMPANY ADVISOR, AND AN EXCELLENT ADVISOR HE WAS, BUT ON TOP OF THAT HE WAS OUR WEAPONS SPECIALIST AND RANGE INSTRUCTOR. HE LOVED WEAPONS, HE COULD TELL YOU THE PROPER NOMENCLATURE, EFFECTIVENESS, CIRCUMSTANCES IN WHICH TO USE THEM UNDER, AND PROPER HANDLING OF EACH ONE. HE LOVED GOING ON MISSIONS, BOTH IN WHICH WE PLANNED PROPERLY AND THOSE WHICH WERE IN QUESTION. HE ACCOMPLISHED ALL MISSIONS AND ALWAYS HAD NOTES TO BETTER HIMSELF AND HIS SOLDIERS FOR FUTURE MISSIONS.
ON SEPT 24, 2005 SGT BRIAN ENRIQUE DUNLAP MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE NOT ONLY FOR AMERICA AND OUR FREEDOMS BUT ALSO FOR IRAQ AND THEIR FREEDOMS. SGT DUNLAP IS A HERO IN ALL OF OUR EYES.TODAY I ASK YOU TO CLAP IN CELEBRATION FOR TODAY WE HAVE DEDICATED THIS RANGE TO HIM “RANGE DUNLAP”. TO SGT BRAIN ENRIQUE DUNLAP, OUR HERO, OUR GUARDIAN ANGEL, OUR TEAMMATE, AND MOST OF ALL OUR BROTHER, WE LOVE YOU AND WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.
